Class 3

Anglo Saxon Drama

Through our class drama work we created our own Anglo-Saxon village in the classroom. Everybody had an important job in the running of the village. We planned how the village would look and what kinds of jobs the Anglo-Saxons would have done. Some of us even got dressed as Anglo Saxons (after first of all researching what they would have worn).

At the end of a long day working in and around the village all the villagers (children) meet in the Mead hall to discuss the day’s happenings. We really had fun pretending to be Anglo-Saxon!

What the children said:

“It was great fun! It felt like I was actually there, although the days went too fast!” Euan Y6

“I enjoyed my Anglo-Saxon farming job and I liked trading with the other villagers.” Harry Y5

“It was great for imagining and pretending. I really got in to it!” Evie Y5

“It was interesting and such fun!” Erica Y5

“I was the potter in the Anglo-Saxon village and it felt like I was really doing it!” Hollie Y4
