Music

Leader: Mike Green

All children are involved in class music, which covers listening to music from different times and cultures, as well as singing and composition using a wide range of instruments.  Whole school singing takes place once a week to practise songs needed for assemblies, school productions and to enjoy singing in a large group.

When children reach Year 3 they have the opportunity to join the school choir which meets once a week.  Individual children can learn to play the recorder, guitar, violin and cello.  There is a tuition charge for some of the lessons as they are given by peripatetic teachers. In addition we have a termly ‘Drum Club’ for children of all ages – this is also for a nominal fee and is very popular. The emphasis of Langham music is enjoyment and all children have an opportunity to participate in school productions either with a vocal or instrumental contribution.
