French

Languages

The National Languages Strategy is committed to give every child between 7 and 11 the entitlement to learn a new language. Here at Langham Village School we have integrated French teaching for all KS2 pupils into our curriculum jigsaw. French lessons are taught by a Language Specialist and involve conversation, use of a variety of software and links with a primary school in La Ferté Saint Aubin (with class and individual penfriend links.)

Class teachers contribute to embedding languages eg by greetings/instructions and registering in French or other languages. We have close links with the Languages Faculty at Alderman Peel High School and pupils have enjoyed attending Languages Conferences there. KS1 pupils are offered the opportunity to join French Club, a before - school activity on Wednesday mornings.

Laura came to Norfolk as part of the Wells-next-the-Sea / La Ferté Saint Aubin Twinning Visit. She enjoyed spending a day with Class 1.
