We have found the experience of working through a ten week programme very rewarding and children have always been highly motivated.

Our sessions are due to run on Mondays through the Spring Term starting on the 10 January and finishing on 30 March.  The children are collected by the Centre in their minibus, the first sessions is for 2 ½ hours and the following eight sessions are 3 hours.  During the sessions pupils have a break when they can have toast, biscuits, squash or fruit and they can play table tennis or play games in the ‘quiet area’.  We leave Langham at approx 2.30 and return to school at about 6.45 pm.

The final session is at the Hunstanton Town Hall when presentations and awards will be made/given out.

As with many things there have been cut-backs and now we ask that there is a £3 contribution per week to cover transport costs.  We will ask Sue Rampley to accompany the group on the minibus for each session.

The Centre Manager, Adam Edwards, will be at the school on Thursday, 2 December at 9 am when he will run a parent information session in Class 3.

Dear Parents

Last year we took a group of over 30 Y 3-6 children to sing in a massed choir at the Royal Albert Hall for a Barnardo’s Charity Event.

It was a wonderful experience as I am sure you have heard or could tell first hand.

I am keen for us to repeat the large choir day out and to this end I have secured us a place to perform in the Wembley Arena on Thursday 24 March.

If you would like your child to join in this fabulous event please return the attached slip as soon as possible.

Mrs Wiles, as last year, will co-ordinate the singing and will issue each choir member a CD with words to practice over the Christmas holidays.  We shall be singing songs by Michael Jackson, High School Musical Medley, some songs by Queen and some favourites including Shine, The Barnardo’s  song and Land of Hope and Glory (a real rouser!).

Jo Phelps will, again, be organising transport for parents if desired, so it could be a great day’s shopping at Brent Cross and straight into the Arena to be entertained.

Every child will be required to wear a specially designed Barnardo’s T-Shirt – price £7 – and this should be the only cost for the children as we will ask the Friend’s to cover the coach fee.

This really is a special venture so do encourage your child to join in – a prompt reply would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Barnardo’s Concert Reply Slip

All family members and friends are warmly invited to watch the performances.

I intend booking a coach to take us to Alderman Peel, leaving Langham at 3 pm ready for a quick rehearsal.  At the end of the performance you can take your child home from Wells or they can travel back to school in the coach.

On the day could the boys wear jeans (if possible) and any type of shirt – dickey bows will be provided by Lisa – girls to have party dresses and Lisa will get ribbons for hair and a few pairs of sunglasses.

We expect the performance to finish about 5.30 pm – there will be refreshments available and a raffle to join in.

This promises to be an exciting show and we are grateful to the School Sports Partnership for providing Lisa’s time and the transport.
